about Thortitude
Thortitude was created by Paul Street who previously worked for a rural Police force. Paul identified a huge learning and support gap within not just his own organisation, but other emergency services who offered very little support to people suffering with mental health, and a lack of awareness around Mental Health First Aid.
Additionally, Paul offers education and training on the subject of County Lines drugs supply, highlighting what is involved, how to recognise the signs of potential victim slavery and how to offer support.
Paul served as a Police Officer for over 18 years. He worked as a Police Constable, before becoming a Sergeant after 4 years; supervising various front line and proactive teams. He also served as a Police Inspector for an 18 month period, managing larger teams within the Police.
Paul's passion and skillset led him to the creation of a proactive drugs team, where he led a team of proactive officers in the fight against County Lines Drug Supply and violent crime. It was within this role in particular that Paul recognised the huge levels of stress put on Police Officers (and others) and a real lack of support and guidance for those struggling with immediate mental health issues.
Paul's passion for learning and development led him to become a Mental Health First Aider, and then a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, where he now educates and teaches individuals and teams around Mental Health First Aid, minimising sickness in the workplace.
